How should I pack tires for shipping?

Shipping & deliveryTiresPackaging
Updated Invalid Date 4 min read

Tires are one of the few categories of parcel for which every carrier publishes a dedicated packing guide. These are official, formal guidelines issued by the carriers themselves, setting out exactly how a tire must be prepared for transport. Following them isn't optional - compliance directly affects both the price of your shipment and whether the carrier will actually accept it at pick-up.

Tire packing instructions

Instead of comparing several carrier guides side by side, use the simplified solution built into the booking form: select the Tires category. Once you've entered the tire's parameters and chosen a carrier, we return one specific instruction tailored to the size and number of tires you're sending and to the requirements of that carrier.

Important: stick to the packing method shown

The system picks the cheapest compliant packing layout for your shipment. The price you see in the booking form:

  • relates to that specific packing method;
  • has been calculated for the configuration shown.

This means you should not change the packing method on your own. If the tires are packed differently from what was indicated:

  • the parcel may be reclassified as non-standard, in which case the carrier will add a surcharge;
  • the dispatched parcel may be returned to you at your own cost;
  • the driver may refuse to accept the tires for transport.
