Can I book a shipment if I'm neither the sender nor the recipient?

Yes. The person paying for the booking does not have to be the sender or the recipient. What matters is that the order contains a valid pick-up address, a valid delivery address, and that the actual sender has access to the shipping documents (waybill and label) when the driver arrives. Forward the confirmation email to them so they can print everything out before the pick-up window opens.
