Every carrier maintains its own list of items it refuses to transport. Before booking, check that your goods aren't restricted by the carrier you intend to use - the catalogue isn't limited to obviously hazardous items. Everyday goods such as alcohol, medication, food, perishables and most automotive parts (engines, gearboxes, fuel tanks) are blocked across the network.
If you ship a prohibited item:
- The parcel can be returned to you at your expense or seized by customs.
- You may be billed additional handling and disposal charges.
- In serious cases (firearms, drugs, sanctioned goods) you face legal liability.
For a full searchable list grouped by carrier and country, see our dedicated prohibited items page. It also covers items that are accepted only under specific conditions (e.g. lithium batteries, perfumes, food samples).
If your goods can't be sent through a parcel courier, you'll usually need a dedicated freight provider - our team can route the request to a transport partner that accepts the cargo type.
