What are the size and weight limits for a standard parcel?

Every carrier in our network publishes its own size and weight envelope - and the limits are different for domestic and international shipments. The figures below are what each carrier actually applies at the first sorting hub, so check yours against them before booking.

Domestic shipments (within Spain)

SEUR / DPD

Maximum longest side 150 cm, maximum volume 0.35 m³, sum of all three sides up to 300 cm for parcels up to 31.5 kg. Non-standard parcels: longest side between 150 cm and 250 cm, provided the sum of the other two sides does not exceed 60 cm. For pallets the base must not exceed 120 × 80 cm and the height 180 cm; remember to add the Euro pallet itself - 14.4 cm height and 25 kg weight - to your declaration. Pallet billing is based on the higher of a minimum volumetric weight of 288 kg or the actual weight if greater. For parcels generally, when volumetric weight exceeds 10 kg and is greater than actual weight, SEUR/DPD bills on volumetric.

SEUR Pickup → home delivery: longest side up to 150 cm, weight up to 31.5 kg, sum of dimensions up to 300 cm.
Home pick-up → SEUR Pickup point: longest side up to 150 cm, weight up to 20 kg, base perimeter + longest side up to 300 cm (2 × a + 2 × b + H, where H is the longest side).
SEUR Pickup Station (locker): actual weight up to 20 kg, dimensions up to 59 × 44 × 50 cm.

DHL

For a standard parcel the longest side cannot exceed 120 cm and no other side may exceed 60 cm. If the longest side is over 120 cm, or any other side is over 60 cm, a non-standard surcharge applies. For pallets the base is capped at 120 × 80 cm and the total height (pallet included) at 210 cm. Add the Euro pallet's 14.4 cm height and 25 kg weight when entering your declaration.

UPS

Base perimeter + longest side cannot exceed 300 cm. UPS also accepts Large Packages - parcels where length + girth (2 × width + 2 × height) is between 300 cm and 400 cm. Large Packages carry a minimum billable weight of 40 kg. Maximum dimensions for a non-standard parcel: length + girth < 300 cm. Any parcel above 32 kg actual weight, wrapped in stretch film, or where the longest side exceeds 100 cm or the second-longest exceeds 76 cm is treated as non-standard. For UPS Access Point drop-off the limits are: longest side 97 cm, total length + girth 300 cm, maximum weight 20 kg.

FedEx

For a standard parcel the longest side cannot exceed 150 cm, no other side 70 cm, and the sum of the two longest sides cannot exceed 180 cm. For a non-standard parcel the sum of dimensions stays within 300 cm and the longest side within 200 cm. FedEx also offers a long-format service: items longer than 200 cm where the other two dimensions stay within 80 cm and actual or volumetric weight stays under 70 kg. The maximum permissible length for long-format is 300 cm. For pallets the base is 120 × 80 cm and the total height (pallet included) 180 cm; add 14.4 cm and 25 kg for the Euro pallet itself.

GLS

Maximum weight 31.5 kg. The longest side cannot exceed 200 cm, with the two shortest sides limited to 80 × 60 cm, and the base perimeter + longest side capped at 300 cm. Domestic parcels can only be booked through GLS service points.

Correos / Correos Express

A standard parcel has length + width + height ≤ 250 cm, with the longest side limited to 120 cm. Non-standard band: 250 cm < (length + width + height) ≤ 300 cm, with the longest side over 120 cm but no greater than 150 cm - these may only be sent in 2XL format and delivered exclusively by courier (no pickup point). Round, oval and cylindrical parcels (tubes, rolls, fabric drums) are treated as non-standard up to a maximum of 20 cm diameter and 150 cm length.

MRW

Standard parcels are rectangular cuboid or sent in a plastic mailer, with the longest side up to 120 cm and sum of dimensions up to 220 cm. For non-standard parcels one dimension may exceed 120 cm but must not exceed 200 cm.

Mondial Relay

For point-to-point relay shipments the parcel must contain items between 50 g and 25 kg, accepted at and delivered through the Mondial Relay network of pickup points and lockers.

International shipments

An international shipment is a courier parcel sent outside Spain or arriving in Spain from another country.

SEUR / DPD

Maximum weight 31.5 kg, longest side up to 175 cm, with the base perimeter + height capped at 300 cm where the height is the longest side: max 300 cm = (2 × length + 2 × width + longest side).

UPS

Maximum weight 30 kg, base perimeter + longest side up to 330 cm.

FedEx

  • Outside Europe, and all FedEx Priority shipments: maximum weight 30 kg, sum of dimensions up to 220 cm, longest side up to 120 cm.
  • Within Europe, without FedEx Priority: maximum weight 30 kg, length + girth up to 330 cm, longest side up to 274 cm.

GLS

Maximum weight 40 kg. The longest side cannot exceed 200 cm, with the two shortest sides limited to 80 × 60 cm, and the base perimeter + longest side capped at 300 cm.

DHL Express

Standard international parcels stay within 120 × 80 × 80 cm per piece, weight up to 70 kg per piece. Anything heavier travels as palletised freight under a separate quote.

Our calculator validates your numbers against every carrier's published envelope in real time. If the parcel falls outside all standard services, the system automatically routes you to a pallet or oversized quote instead.
